Mononiketan | Mental Health and Wellness Centre
Mononiketan is a university-wide wellbeing centre designed to support the emotional, creative, social, and developmental needs of the Brainware community.
It is a space where students and employees can seek guidance, pause and reflect, reconnect with themselves, participate in meaningful activities, and experience a healthier and more balanced campus life.
About Mononiketan
University life can be exciting and also demanding. Academic pressure, uncertainty about the future, social and personal struggles, and the pace of campus life can affect how students and staff feel, function, and connect.
Mononiketan has been established in recognition of this reality.
The Centre reflects a holistic understanding of wellbeing. It recognises that a person’s wellbeing is shaped not only by emotional support, but also by meaningful participation, healthy routines, creative expression, supportive relationships, and a sense of belonging.

Mononiketan follows a holistic and student-centred approach to wellbeing.
This approach includes:

Who Can Access Mononiketan?
Mononiketan is open to:
- Students of Brainware University
- Employees and members of the Brainware community
Students may visit Mononiketan for support, guidance, wellbeing activities, or simply to find a space for connection and balance. Employees may also access the Centre for professional support.
What Mononiketan Offers
1. Counselling and Emotional Support
Mononiketan offers supportive spaces for students and staff who may be dealing with academic stress, emotional concerns, personal difficulties, uncertainty, relationship-related issues, or the pressures of campus life.
This support is intended to be approachable, respectful, and confidential.
2. Guidance and Psychological Support
The Centre provides guided support for emotional wellbeing, self-awareness, coping, resilience, and personal growth. Where appropriate, psychological guidance and professional support are extended through the trained team associated with the Centre.
3. Wellbeing Practices
Mononiketan promotes habits and practices that strengthen balance and wellbeing in everyday life. These include guided sessions focused on relaxation, breathing, mindfulness, grounding, and healthy emotional regulation.
4. Art, Music, and Dance-Based Engagement
Creative expression can be an important part of wellbeing. Mononiketan includes spaces and activities connected to art, music, and movement-based engagement, helping to explore expression, reflection, and release in meaningful ways.
5. Yoga, Gymnasium, and Fitness-Linked Wellbeing
The Centre also supports wellbeing through physical balance and mindful movement, including yoga and fitness-oriented activities in the campus gymnasium that contribute to both emotional and physical wellness.
6. Clubs, Co-Curricular Activities, and Student Engagement
Wellbeing grows through participation. Mononiketan therefore connects wellbeing with 12 active student clubs, co-curricular activities, campus events, and opportunities for meaningful engagement.
7. Workshops, Awareness Sessions, and Campus Programmes
Mononiketan organises awareness drives, thematic workshops, wellness camps, guided sessions, and outreach initiatives to build a healthier and more informed campus culture.
8. NSS, Outreach, and Community Interface
Mononiketan also creates scope for outreach and community-oriented engagement through awareness campaigns, wellness drives, NSS-linked activities, and other participatory initiatives, to reflect on the wider role of mental health awareness beyond the classroom.
9. Student Growth and Exposure
The Centre contributes to guided student development and campus exposure through structured participation, supervised activities, and interdisciplinary engagement, especially where wellbeing and education meaningfully intersect.
10. Research and Future Scope
Mononiketan opens up opportunities for documentation, wellbeing programme design, supervised participation, and research. It also creates scope for academic inquiry into student wellbeing patterns, institutional care models, and the future role of digital tools and automation in mental health and wellness services.
